BHUBANESWAR: Orissa minister of state for jail Kiran Chandra Singh deo Sept.19 said in the assembly that 26 Thai prisoners Judged in the Choudwar jail near Cuttack city had tested HIV positive. ‘
These foreign nationals had been kept in a separate ward of the jail hospital and the jail medical officer and the psychiatrist directed to take all precautionary measures, Mr Singh deo said.
The prisoners were among the 77 foreigners, 72 Thai and five Myanmar nationals, shifted to Choudwar after flood waters entered the Jagatsinghpur jail on July 14. They were caught last year off the coast of Paradeep for fishing in the territorial waters.
