BAREILLY: The anti-reservation agitation took an ugly tum last week when a student of a local college, Uditt Pratap Singh, suffered serious burns in a self-immolation bid in the Ayub Khan Chowk area.
Police said Singh, a first year B.A. student and a former district president of the National Students Union of India, set he on fire in front of the local Sita pur Eye Hospital in the presence of several other students.
‘The police immediately reached the spot and took him to the district hospital from where he was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi in critical condition.
