India’s puppet regime in Punjab headed by Beant Singh stands exposed. The chief minister and the police who together rule the state tried to protect the rapists of the innocent French girl, Kattia for nine days until they were forced to arrest the accused after France mounted international pressure through diplomatic channels, The chief rapist was none else but the grandson of the Chief minister who has been identified by the victim during an identification parade in Chandigarh.
The court order came on a petition filed by Simranjit Singh Mann, these incidents only the tip of the ice berg. The police and the ruling clique is free not only to kill, torture and maim throughout Punjab but also to rape women with no relief to anyone from any quarter. The police in the Kattia case acted only under diplomatic pressure and not due to the collective institutions available to the general public in “democratic” India. Even now there is no good guarantee that Gurkeet and his gang will be punished because they are fully protected by the chief minister who dismissed the “Kattia incident” as of “no consequence.” The Kattia incident is in reality on extension of the rape used Asia state policy against the freedom movements of Punjab and Kashmir.
Elsewhere in the state, including its highest courts protects the perpetrators of sexual crimes? The case in point is the manner in which Punjab police chief; K.P.S.Gill was allowed to go scot free even when responsible women police officers of Punjab alleged that they suffered harassment at the hands of Gill ‘a few years ago.
