By: Amolak Singh, New Orleans, USA. Birmingham, U.K: It did not surprise me at all when I taught that Dr. Gurpartap Singh Birk’s son, Jagdeep, did much more than an outstanding job in his Math Exam. It appears that during Dr. Birk’s absence, his brother, S, Parduman Singh Birk, had provided the family a great moral support and an excellent education! The Evening Mail. Birmingham’s newspaper of August 26, 1994, gave this news. Along with the above photograph on the front page, as: “Mini maths marvel Jagdeep Birk has notched up a stunning GCSE grade A — at the age of 11.
Jagdeep, for whom figures are fun, sat the paper five years early — alongside 16yearold at a Sand well secondary school.
‘The youngster is thought to be the youngest candidate in the Midlands to pass! “In addition, Jagdeep won an 800 M race in his school games. According to Vince Lombardi (Football Coach), “Winning isn’t everything. It’s the only thing!” Congratulations to Birk family! It is indeed a great honor to the Sikh Community.!
