CHANDIGARH: Dr. Amar Singh, who had been serving at Payal Primary Health Center for the last 22 years, last week identified the dentures recovered from the body of slain Punjab chief minister Beant Singh. He said that the dentures were prepared by him. Deposing in the Beant Singh assassination case, held in the high security Burail Jail, Dr. Amar Singh said that Beant Singh had three teeth in his lower jaw and he had prepared a removable denture for him. Two pieces of the broken dentures were produced in the district and sessions court in a sealed cover contained in a bottle. He said that when he reached the PGI mortuary to pay his last respects to the slain chief minister, he saw three bodies wrapped up in a white sack. While one of them was that of Dr. Anil Duggal, he was not sure of the other one. The third one, he said, was later identified as Ranjodh Singh. He described as incorrect the fact that the dentures were never prepared by him for Beant Singh. He said that Dr. Inderjeet Dewan asked him to draw an outline of the dentures of the slain chief minister’s lower jaw, which he did and recognized the denture recovered from his body after it was shown to him.
