CHANDIGARH: The personnel of the CIA: Special Staff and Operations Cells of the h arrested two Kashmiri militants last week: They were arrested near the Bapu Dham colony. The arrested are Abdul Rashid and Mohammad Amir Mir, Both of them are residents of K in Jammu and Kashmir and have been trained by the Pakistani agency, ISL.
According to a release issued by the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), CSR Reddy, Rashid was an active member of Al Burg outfit and had gone to Pakistan for training in 99% trained in the use of weapons and explosives. He had come to India with an | AK47 3 explosives. Initially, he was a member of the Muslim Jaanbaaz Force and had later joined Al ‘Mohammad Amin Mir is a member of the Hizbul Mujahideen outfit. He had crossed over to Pakistan: in 1990 and after having been trained by the ISI, had returned with a RPG Rocket launcher, four grenades, one pistol and 100 cartridges. He had initially joined Operation Balakot outfit and had also remained an active member of the Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (IKLF).
According to sources, both of the arrested militants were staying in 2 Shuttering Store near the Cricket stadium in Mohali and had been there for more than past four months, It is learnt that Mohammad Amin Mir had also visited the city twice before. While one of them had been working at different saw mills, the other one was employed with the shuttering store. Sources say that during the course of interrogation, the two revealed that they had been trained at a camp near Muzaffarabad. The police are investigating and more arrests of Kashmiri militants working for different outfits is expected.
