LUCKNOW; Five persons, including three police personnel, were shot dead and two others injured by Punjab militants in village Shahpur Khajera of Moradabad district in the northern Uttar Pradesh state Tuesday, right, an official spokesman said here Wednesday.
Among the deceased were one sub in Spector, two police constables, one home guard and one driver of a matador.
A constable and a home guard were rushed to the Meeruit medical college in a critical condition.
The incident occurred when two police constables and two home guards on patrol duty in/a matador were fired at by the militants, resulting in the death of one constable, one home guard and the driver on the spot.
A little later, the militants fired and killed a sub inspector and a constable travelling on a motor cycle.
