CHANDIGARH: Justice T.H.B. Chalapathy of the Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed the District Sessions Judge, Ferozepur, to conduct an inquiry into a case of alleged police torture leading to the death of the victim. His order followed a plea by Piar Kaur, a resident of Karian Pehalwan village in Ferozepur district, seeking registration of an FIR under Section 302 against the police officials who tortured her son, Balwinder Singh, to death, besides seeking compensation for this irreparable loss.
