FEROZEPORE: The Punjab government has decided to send 300 farmers to foreign countries for training in latest techniques of agriculture with a view to popularize modern techniques of agriculture in the state. Addressing a gathering here July 15th, after laying a foundation stone of Rs 30 lakh bridge over Jalalabad drain at Khude village, Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Forest Hans Raj Josan said the bridge would be completed by October next and would establish a direct link between Fazilka and Jalalabad. Referring to farmer’s demand of power supply to irrigate paddy fields, the minister said two power houses at Chack Budh Ke and Chrane Wala which were at present under construction, would start functioning very soon and would entrust uninterrupted power supply to farmers of about 50 villagers in Jalalabad block.
