Every Year Guru Nanak Foundation of America (GNFA) in Washington Metropolitan area arranges food clothing and blankets for the areas many homeless people Last year the chairman Ahuja Secretary Sudarshanjit Singh and Jasbir Singh Saini provided food clothing and about 400 blankets to approximately 250 people on Guru Nanak Devjis Birthday.
This year was no different. Jagdev Singh Bajwa Parvesh Nirula Jasbir Singh Saini Charanjit Singh Aulakh Mr. & Mrs. Chahal and many other GNFA members took food and blankets for about 250 people to the Community for Creative Non-violence homeless shelter in D.C. on Nov.27.
The meal this year consisted of rice pullau kidney beans potato’s and peas pita bread and fruit-salad which was highly appreciated by the center In fact after every homeless person ate a meal there was enough food left for another complete meal for everyone. GNFA plans on continuing this tradition for years to come.
