NEW DELHI (PTI): Why does your child lie? Why he never says Sorry. Why he hates a younger sibling and why does he tattle behind others backs. The problem is not with him but with the family.
If only the parents would say sorry for some wrong they did the offspring would learn to admit his mistakes and politely apologize. How so ever undesirable your child’s behavior is control your anger and patiently talk it over with him. Severe scolding verbal abuse or spanking and slapping whether in public or alone damages the fragile structure of self-esteem that he or she is gradually building.
Harsh punishment not only leads to character and psychological disorders but also Perpetuates aggression as a characteristic way of solving problems. Hence increased violence.
