DHAKA (PTI): At least 15 people were injured when activists of rival students’ outfits clashed for the second time in five days in the north eastern Bangladeshi town of Sylhet, 369 km from here, on Nov.9, media reports said.
Police sprayed rubber bullets and lobbed teargas shells to disperse the clashing workers of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the frontal wing of ruling.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), and fundamentalist Islamic Chhatra Shiber, the students” organization of Jamaat E Islami Among the injured were a JCD activist and a policeman. The clash, believed to be a sequel to Saturday’s attack by Islamic Chhatra Shibir on two JCD leaders in the town, broke out after processions of the rival groups met head-on.
