WASHINGTON D.C: Appromtely 200 Sikhs, led by Dr.Gunmit Singh Aulakh, of Council of Khalistan, rallied in front of the White House and Indian embassy to mark the ninth year since the Indian government led massacres which claimed the lives of at least 20,000 Sikhs in Delhi alone and another 20,000 throughout India. To this day, only four people have been convicted for participating in the Delhi anti Sikh riots.
Chanting slogans “India out of Khalistan, “Indian Government Shame, Shame,” and “Cut U.S. Aid to India” in front of the White House, the demonstrators expressed their grief over the Delhi riots and their wish that India’s troops vacate Khalistan immediately. Demonstrators arrived from all over the East Coast, including New Jersey, New York, Mary Jand, Virginia and North Carolina.
