MISSISSAUGA: Twelve refugee claimants being held at the Celebrity Inn detention center went on hunger strike to protest against the delay in processing their application refugee claims, Gagandeep Singh is the spokesperson of hunger strikers, The hunger strike involves refugee claimants from India, Russia, Angola and Iraq and are tired of waiting for word on their fate. Gagandeep Singh said that guards at the detention center threatened to take the protesters to the metro west detention center unless they ended their strike. Immigration officials at the detention center refused to comment on this situation.
