October 22 (a) Death of Sardar Jassa Singh Ahluwalia (A.D. 1783). He was a great general of the Khalsa forces during eighteenth century and out of veneration for his heroic deeds and qualities of leadership, he was called ‘Sultan ul Quam’ i.e. the King of the Nation: He was the head of Ahluwalia Misl and later founded the Kapurthala State. He issued a coin with the name of the Guru in A.D. 1761.
(b) Maharaja Dalip Singh breathed his last in France in A.D. 1893.
