DHARAMSALA: The Kangra police have arrested a wanted criminal, Gurdip Singh, from Nurpur area, who: was involved in multiple murders in Delhi and Himachal Pradesh and had been absconding since last year,
Disclosing this, Superintendent of Police, Kangra, Mr.R.K. Singh, March 2nd, said the criminal was arrested during routine check by the district police, Gurdip Singh was taken into police custody following his failure to produce valid documents of the Maruti van in which he was travelling. The police later found that the vehicle bearing No DL 4 CE 2169 was actually a taxi stolen from Dharamsala in November last year.
A revolver, a Japanese knife and uniform of a police sub inspector were recovered from Gurdip Singh. The accused was purportedly involved in the murder of his accomplice in Manikaran in Kullu last year and five murder cases are pending against him in Delhi, as per information received from the Delhi police.
