IMPHAL (PTI): On Sept.21, 13 children 11 boys and two girls, all aged below six, were burned alive and an elderly Naga was killed in continuing violence in Manipur.
There has also been powerful bomb blasts and arson in three villages, in separate incidents in two different districts, official sources said.
The children, deserted by their panic stricken elders, died in arson at Taloulong village in Tamenglong district, after it was surrounded and all 35 houses put to the torch by unidentified armed persons late Sunday night. The bodies were recovered Tuesday, the sources said,
Two powerful bomb blasts rocked Sugnu and Chakpikkarong areas in Chandel district Tuesday, the sources said. It was not known if there was any casualty.
Fire raisers destroyed 70 dwellings in three villages Boljang, Hengjang Nawaljam — in Sadar hills subdivision of Tamenglong district also Tuesday morning.
