NEW DELHI: The way the Indian government authorities treated certain alleged Bangladesh infiltrators recently was led to resentment among the Indian Muslims, according to information available here. Objections have been raised against the herding of 132 Bangla nationals on September 11 at Delhi without any verification and without even permit. ting them to collect all their family members.

These nationals were dispossessed of their meager belongings and money and their household articles were burnt by the Indian security forces before all of them were made to board a train. The Indian border security force compounded the offence when it shaved the heads of all the Bangla nationals before they were thrown out of India’s borders.

The action against the Bangla nationals has been taken in the wake of Hindu fundamentalist propaganda that Delhi alone has 3.5 lakh illegal infiltrators from Bangladesh, Observers feel that Delhi’s treatment of the Bangla people in its severity surpasses the re-emergence of pro-Hitler fascists in Germany. Indian home ministry desks monitoring the communal situation in the country have noticed heightened tension in the country with Muslims resenting the ill-treatment of the Bangla Muslims.

Delhi has taken note of the growing Muslim reaction against the police actions. All India Muslim Youth Convention general secretary Javed Habib has said that the Bangla infiltration has been blown out of all proportions by parties like the BJ.P. for political interests. Jamaat-e-Islami Mind vice president Mohammed Shafi Moohis has said that India has not taken any serious step to handle the Bangladeshis “with internationally accepted principles.” Most Muslim leaders said that Indian prime minister continues to have a soft corner for the Hindu fascist groups such as R.S.S, and the: V.H.I.P.
