AMRITSAR(PTI): On Aug.28, tight security is being maintained on the “Samjhotha Express” and goods trains coming from Pakistan following reports that these trains might be used by militant elements for Smuggling RDX explosive and weapons from. Pakistan.
The additional director general of railways, S.R.Sharma talking to newspersons here said that this vigil was ordered after the reported smuggling of huge quantity of RDX explosive in Bombay.
“We are very careful Government Railway Police (GRP) Jawans star: patrolling the track one hour before the entry of any train from Pakistan in the Indian Territory.”
Similarly goods trains bringing cargo from Pakistan are taken {0 yard in Ammitsar for a thorough search, he added, He described ideas like subversive elements trying to smuggle explosives in a train and blowing it up with remote control device at Amritsar railway station as pure imagination. “It cannot happen since a thorough search of each train was being made by GRP as well as customs and other paramilitary forces,” he added.
