GENEVA: Pakistan is making serious efforts to get the International Community to identify India as an aggressor in Kashmir at 4 high level international conference sponsored by the Swiss government on the Geneva conventions of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). Proposing amendments to a draft declaration of the international Conference for the protection of war victims here. Islamabad is urging the 181 signatories to the Geneva conventions to view Kashmir as a disputed territory in line with Palestine, Pakistan’s proposed text which attempts a backdoor entry for the Kashmir issue (the rules of the meet exclude country or region specific references) asks countries to condemn the violations of fundamental rights of individuals “particularly in occupied and disputed diplomatic areas.

Pakistan is also calling the International Community to condemn aggression and violence against civilians in non-international armed conflicts. We are particularly alarmed over the tendency to use extreme force to repress people struggling against foreign occupation and for their inalienable right to self-determination.” Islamabad has said, Diplomats says Pakistan has been lobbying the Arab world and some sympathetic European governments hoping that Kashmir will surface in some future document as 4 disputed and occupied territory. , The Geneva conference has been organized by the Swiss government to focus attention on what has now become normal in times of war  systematic violation of humanitarian nights and total dis regard for the Geneva conventions that have been signed by most countries.
