CHANDIGARH: Rajinder Singh (15) and Gurpreet Singh (16),sons of Babbar Khalsa International militant Bhai Mehal Singh, who were picked up by Chandigarh police chief Saini here recently, are free. The two brothers are students in the local Sri Guru Gobind Singh College. The arrests were made without acknowledge ment.

They have been released after several human rights groups criticized the police for whisking away the two students who were not connected with the current Sikh movement. According to the Movement against State Repression representatives, the two students along with the third, Parminder Singh, had been picked up by a police posse headed by Saini from room No 31 of Sri Guru Gobind Singh college hostel. While Parminder Singh had been released after interrogation, the other two remained in the custody of the police,

The group asked authorities to release the two students without causing any harm to them.
