NEW DELHI(PTI): On Aug.28, Leader of the Right Wing Bharatiya Janata Party Murli Manohar Joshi wanted the Indian Ambassador to the United States, S.S.Ray, to be recalled alleging his “indifferent attitude” towards the Indian community in that country,

Joshi claimed, on his return from the United States where he gone to attend the global vision2000 in Washington, that Ray had not visited the Indian Youth who had been shot and injured in the Independence Day celebrations there,

Ray’s behavior “singularly dis qualifies him from representing India anywhere in any capacity,” Joshi told reporters.

On the news reports pertaining to the payment made to him by stock broker Harshad Mechta, Joshi said it was a serious matter and Probe panel inquiring into the securities scam should immediately inquire into it.

“This was a clever ploy to divert the people’s attention from the corruption in the Congress,” he said.
