NEW DELHI(PTI): On Aug.28, Indian opposition party, the Janata Dal (Ajit) petitioned to the lower house speaker seeking disqualification of six of the seven former JDA MPs from the house on charges of violating party whip to vote in favor of the Congress-I.
The seventh MP, G.C.Munda, had sought prior permission of the party to abstain from voting. All the seven MPs Ram Lakhan Singh Yaday, Ram Saran Yaday, Abhey Pratap Singh, Roshan Lal, GM. Khan, ACD as and G.C.Munda, had joined the Congress-I within a week after the no confidence motion against the Narasimha Rao government was defeated on July 28.
