NEW DELHI: Fourteen men of the Indian Border Security Force and one of Assam police were killed in an encounter with militants of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland recently, according to Indian government authorities here.

The incident took place near Achala village. The encounter revealed that India’s efforts to buy over Nagas had failed end the militant is were regrouping to revive the 40-year-old armed struggle for an independent Nagaland.
