CHANDIGARH, (PTI): Twelve militants were among 14 people killed in separate incidents in the state of Punjab on July 23. Five unidentified militants were killed in an encounter with the _ police near Udhanwal village in _ Batala police district. A report from the city of Amritsar said that the security forces claimed to have wiped out the militant organization “Baba Wadhwa Singh Khalistan Jathebandi” with the killing of five of its top leaders. They were killed in an encounter with the Tam Taran police in village Dubli.
The killed included the chief of the organization, Amrik Singh, deputy chief, Harjinder Singh Randhawa and area commander Nishan Singh alias Pappu The other two could not be identified till reports last came in.
