ONTARIO: Mr. Inderjit Singh Bal has declared his candidacy to seek the nomination for liberal party from Federal Riding of Malton Gore Bramalea. Bal made this announcement at a special gathering of more than one thousand people at Ontario Khalsa Darbar Gurdwara at Dixie Road July 25 at 2:00 p.m.

Gurjit S. Grewal the past Liberal Candidate from this riding was the first to endorse Bal for his nomination, Grewal also made it clear that he will not be seeking the nomination from this riding, Among others present to endorse Bal included: Shan Padda, President Brampton Federal Liberal Association, Parminder Parmer, President Fed. Lib. Assoc. Mississauga West, Avtar Singh Brar, President Ontario Counsel of Sikhs and Gurpreet Singh Bal Vice President WSO (Ontario Region).

Inderjit Singh Bal has been a Member of the Liberal Party since 1979 and has worked in the various Federal, Provincial and Municipal Campaigns, Bal was one of the key organizers of Jean Chretien’s Team during the leadership Convention held at Calgary 1990,

At present Bal is a member of National Executive of Liberal Party of Canada and Co-Chair of the Standing committee on Multiculturalism. Bal is a member of the National Campaign Committee and also sits on the Ontario and Metro campaign committees,

He is active in Community affairs and has been a key organizer of annual sports competitions and cultural functions, he has also actively participated in the organization of a number of Blood Donation Camps, Food drives and Inter Community Banquets to promote inter-community race relations, Bal is also’ a Member of advisory committee of Ankhela Punjab Radio broadcast where he is a weekly commentator of current National and international affairs.

Inderjit Singh Bal is married with three children aged 8, 6, and2. Bal is aware of community needs and problems of the small business in the Riding. He himself is Co-owner of restaurant in Brampton and stays in constant touch with the people.
