NEW DELHI: Former Prime Minister V.P.Singh on June 26 asked the Center to immediately clarify how it proposed to meet the threat posed by Vishwa Hindu Parishad to resume temple construction at the disputed site at Ayodhya after Dussehra.
Singh, in a statement, referred to the reports which said the Ram Temple Nyas Manch had at its meeting in Hardwar on Friday demanded that the Center return the disputed area before Dussehra falling on October 24,
If the Government failed to do as directed, the Manch threatened to convene the sixth dharma sansad to decide the course of “direct action.”
The Janata Dal leader said the Manch was nothing but a front of the VHP and its announcement was nothing but a notice that it ‘was going to rake up the temple issue again at the time of Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and three other formerly BJP ruled States, which are expected to be held at the end of this year.
