Sir,

On Junes 4, 1992 The World Sikh Organization commemorated “Saka Akal Takhat 84” in the Parliament House in Ottawa by holding a banquet meeting in memory of brave Sikh martyrs who laid down her lives fighting a tyrant force. In the past eight years so much have been said and written about the causes of this cowardly mean act by the ungrateful (Akirighan) majority community of India and its stupid rulers.

That evening while pondering over the ideas on the situation and discussing it with a very close friend we wished to find a brief answer to the question of why this tragedy happened. That one line answer came to us from an article

In dubious battles” by Don Moraes published in The Sunday Tribune of Oct. 22, 1989.

Don Moraes the son of Frank More as a former editor of “The Times of India” was interviewing Morarji Desai about Indira Gandhi on whom he was writing a profile. Desai said “I will never speak evil of any person” and become silent this was a clear implication that Desai could find nothing good to say about it

The Desai broke his silence by saying “that woman is more evil than Hitler or Stalin.” After this Desai made no further remarks about Indira Gandhi the Sikhs are born to fight evil.
