Five militants also surrendered before the Punjab minister of state for irrigation and power, Surinder Kapoor, in Mansa, police claim.

In an encounter in village Bahadur Nagar in Tam Taran police district , five militants of a newly formed militant outfit, Lok Mukti Force of Khalistan (LMFK), including its chief, Dr Jagatar Singh alias Jora Jallad and Dy chief, Bikar Singh , were killed.

Police said the militants were involved in several incidents of policemen killings. Two ak-47 rifles, three guns, one rocket, four detonators and three-kg of explosive material were recovered from the encounter site.
