CHANDIGARH: Octogenarian Sikh saint Bhagat Puran Singh who fell ill at Amritsar last week was later shifted to Chandigarh’s lost Graduate Medical Institute. His condition is stable, according to doctors attending on him.
Bhagat Puran Singh runs Pingalwara at Amritsar where hundreds of sick men, women and children are looked after. Most of these persons have no means of sustenance.
Many are mentally ill and can barely look after themselves. Bhagat Puran Singh is their “parent” who collects money to run the unique institution he manages.
