CHICAGO: Annual Punjabi cultural program “Rangla Punjab” to celebrate Vaisakhi in Chicago was held at Lane Tech High School auditorium on April 24, 1993.
Over 1500 family members of the community attended the celebrations. Nearly 200 children, teenagers and adults worked together for months to participate in the program performances.
Punjabi music songs, skits, Bhangra and Gidha items were plentiful, reflecting the heart felt joy of the audience, The colorful glimpses of Punjab, “Rangla Punjab,” the land of five waters,” on stage and in the audience were truly moving.
‘The program was organized by the Sikh community affairs committee of the Sikh Religious Society of Chicago.
