CLEVELAND: On May 16, 1993 while addressing the Sikh Sangat at the G.N.F. Sikh Temple Cleveland, Dr.Gurcharan Singh thanked the presidents of both the Gurdwaras and the Sikh Sangat for their response and support, Since a lot of blood had been shed by the Sikhs, he emphasized that it was time we also fought the Indian government with the might of the pen. It was for this reason that the W.S.O. had established the Sikh Secretariat at Washington, D.C. Since it is located near Capitol Hill it could act as the mouthpiece of the Sikhs. This would help in making the American government and other foreign governments aware of the atrocities committed by the Indian government on the Sikhs in India. An appeal was made to the management committees of all the Gurdwaras in USA to also lend their support and become members of W.S.O, since it was only with a joint effort that our Sikh brethren in Punjab could be supported in all ways to achieve our goal of Khalistan.
Further, on the evening of May 19, 1993 an open discussion was arranged. Dr.Gurcharan Singh Dhillon in a very cordial atmosphere answered all the questions put forward by the Sikh Sangat. This helped in making the Sikh Sangat aware of the role and functioning of the W.S.O. office in Washington.
