SRINAGAR: At least 17 Army jJawans were killed and 15 others seriously injured in a powerful blast at Leh in frontier region of Ladakh.
According to top official sources here, the blast occurred within firing range of the Army area May 23.
The condition of all the injured was stated to be “critical,” the sources said.
The blast occurred when a group of trainees were undergoing training in shooting. The bomb is said to be an old left out explosive material.
A court of enquiry has been ordered into the blast which occurred around 10; 30a.m, the sources said, ruling out militants’ hand in the blast.
