AMRITSAR: Senior Khalistan leader Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochahal has refuted reports circulated by Indian authorities that he had surrendered. In a statement circulated here on his behalf, Baba Manochahal, now leading underground life, has said that he will prefer to die to surrendering to Indian authorities. The four page statement further says that the real intention of spreading this kind of propaganda is to demoralize the pro Khalistan activities. He says he has committed no crime to justify his surrender to India; the militant activities are waging a war of independence. They may be fugitives for India but for Sikhs they are heroes, Referring to a spate of surrender ceremonies organized recently, Baba Manochahal has said that many so-called militants lured by money and fame infiltrated into the militant ranks and most such people were really the government’s planted men and were completely ignorant about the militant ideology. Baba Manochahal praised Simranjit Singh Mann for standing by the militants at a difficult time, at the same time Baba Manochahal criticized All India Sikh Students Federation leader Harmandir Singh for stating that the public had stopped cooperating with the militants. Harminder Singh has started talking in the language of the government. Those who live in a life of luxury cannot understand the ideology of Sant Jamail Singh Bhindranwale.
