KATHMANDU, (PTI): The Nepalese government has lifted the ban on export of gold and silver jewelery with immediate effect.
In a gazette notification, the commerce ministry said that under the provision made for the Motion of gold and silver.
A provision has also been made allowing the import of semi-precious gems and export of gem- studded jewelry.
Under the provision made under the export import (control) act 1956, the tourists showing authoritative evidence of exchanging foreign currencies for Nepalese rupees will be allowed to carry jewelry made of gold and silver.
