NEW DELHI (PTI): The Government recently exempted from customs duty the import of gold of purity not exceeding 0.995 if imported by domestic units under the scheme for export of gold jewelry and articles.
Raw materials and components for the manufacture in bond of goods for supplies of off-shore oil exploration and exploitation were also exempted.
A Central board of excise and customs notes said the scheme of import duly exemption of gold by the state bank of India to exporters has been extended to imports of gold under the scheme for export of gold jewelry and articles by Minerals and Metals Trading Corporation (MMIC) also.
