BOMBAY,(PTI):Big bull Harshad Mehta and junior officer of the state of India R. Sitaraman were on June 22 remanded to CBI Custody till July 3 by designated Special judge S.N. Variava, However, the judge released nine other accused on bail subject to various conditions. He specified bail amounts ranging from RS 30,000 to Rs five lakhs.
The special judge directed the CBI to allow the two accused, Harshad Mehta and Sitaraman to” have home cooked food, doctors, books and reading materials of their choice
The judge observed that it appeared to be a massive fraud with: the connivance of bank officials.
Meanwhile, India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) consented to conditional, release on bail of nine accused in multi-crore Securities scam, including Ashwin and Sudhir Mehta and SBI deputy managing director CL.KHEMANI while pleading for further custody of Harshad Mehta and (SBI) official R. sitaraman
