CALGARY: Daljit Singh Dulay 28 of Surrey B.C. was found guilty on June 1 of murdering his Sister her husband and a family friend and sentenced to life in prison.

The charges on Dulay stemmed from the shooting deaths of two men and woman in the parking lot VOUS as a Six man six woman jury gave its verdict after deli berating for more than 30 hours smiled and twice gave the thumbs-up sign to court room Spectators including his father as he was led away to prison.

The slight man blinked repeatedly bit his lips as he was convicted on two counts of first degree murder and two counts of second degree murder. The first degree conviction carries an automatic sentence of life in prison with no chance of parole for 25 years.

Justice Willis O’Leary decreed no parole for 18 years on the life Sentence.

Defence lawyer David Gibbons a prominent Vancouver barrister said both the family and Dulay were understandably upset.

It’s going to be very predictable for him where he’s going to be for the next while unless he’s successful on appeal and that’s his main concern now. Dulay has not made a decision on whether to appeal Gibbons said.

But he should wait a bit before he decides that. Decisions made in the heat of the moment aren’t such good decisions.
