CHANDIGARH: Ten persons including seven militants were killed in the northern Indian state of Punjab on May 14.

Two unidentified militants were killed in an encounter with police near Sapanwala Chowk in Amritsar city.
A group of militants who fired at a branch of Punjab National Bank in village Kanganwal in Sangrur district were confronted by a police party and in the ensuing encounter two unidentified militants were killed.
A militant Ranjit Singh alias Nihang was killed when a group of militants fired at the police party escorting him near Mchamanan village in Faridkot district.
Sanjeevini Devi injured in May 13 shootout at the house of a Congress-I leader Buta Ram in Amritsar succumbed to injuries in hospital. Five others including But Ram and his three guards were injured in the incident.
