CHANDIGARH: Nine people’s seven militants and two securitymen were killed and 11 militants arrested in Punjab on April 15.
Militants shot dead a home guard Karamjit Singh in village Nathuhari in Sangrur district Wednesday.
Security forces arrested six militants in Temple city in Punjab Amritsar district and recovered some arms and ammunition from them.
Si Manjit Singh was killed when occupants of a Maruti car fired at a police patrol which signalled vehicle to top near village Gahll Kalan in Faridkot district.
Two militants Shinder Singh and Balwinder Singh were killed in an encounter with security forces near village Chogawan in Majitha district.
Slain militants belonged to “Khalistan Liberation Force”.
In another encounter two unidentified militants were killed near a hotel in Ludhiana.
A militant was killed in an encounter near village Bajewala in Mansa district. His accomplices however escaped.
Militant Dalip Singh was killed when a police party taking him for recovery arms was ambushed near village Poli Surat in Batala district.
Two militants were arrested in Jalandhar district and three in Ferozepore district.
