CHICAGO: Punjabi Cultural Program “Rangla Punjab “92” to celebrate Vaisakhi was held at Lane Tech High School auditorium in Chicago on Saturday April 11 1992. Over 1500 people were in the audience and it had a cast of over 150 local Punjabi community artists who exhibited quality talents in Punjabi music songs and dances. The program started with the invocation and went on smoothly for four hours and the audience loved it.
The program was organized by Sikh Community Affairs Committee and hosted by Rajinder Singh Mago Balbir Kaur Manjit Singh Gill and Mohinderjit Singh Saini assisted by Gulzar Singh Multani P.S.Maan Pammi Gill Mani Dhaliwal Gurpreet Kaurand Navinder Kaur Mago. Music was provided by Shiv Chawlas group and Sam Alexander. This action packed “Rangla Punjab” showcased Navreet and Navraaz Basatis songs ladies Giddha dance Bhangra and many other youth dances. Major Singh Mauji recited poetry and Tarlochan Singh Multanis group performed a comedy skit.
All the profits from the show are going to Sikh Religious Society of Chicago. Darshan Singh Dhaliwal a business man from Wisconsin announced a reception to honor all the participants. “Rangla Punjab 1993” was announced to be slated for April 10 1993.
