LUDHIANA: Punjab Sikh Vichar Manch Convenor Gurbhajan Singh Gill was arrested by the Ludhiana police last week for apprehension of breach of peace.
Gill was planning to Talwandi Sabo in connection with the Vaisakhi day celebrations but was prevented from doing so as a result of his arrests.
He was subsequently allowed to be released on bail.
A spokesman of Punjab Human Rights Organization criticize the detention of Gill who in also secretary of the organization.
Gill is the second PHRO activist to be detained by the Punjab Police Justice Ajit Singh Bains chairman of another human rights organization was arrested by Punjab police an “terrorist” last week and is locked up in Burail jail.
