ELCENTRO: David Dhillon the mayor and former councilman of El Centro is seeking the assembly seat for the 80th district. Reapportionment has combined Imperial Valley with Coachella Valley to create a new district without an assembly representative.
Dhillon grew up in the desert taught school for six years and currently works in El Centro. With 12 years of community activism in his background he hopes to be a conservative voice on such issues as water rights for agriculture vs urban areas education and jobs. His civic and professional experience guarantees that he will lend a thoughtful ear to these: issues.
He recently received his first endorsement: a unanimous vote of the State Board of the Cal. College Republicans.
“The California College Republicans enthusiastically support David’s candidacy” said Jonathan Gear State Chairman of the 6000member organization “David’s strong conservative credentials and ideals are desperately needed in Sacramento. The unanimous support by every board member from throughout the state represents the overwhelming support among Republican grassroots volunteers.”
The CCR are one of the largest and most active Repub. volunteer groups in California. Their endorsement and support has proved vital in many recent State elections.
“We view the 80th Assembly District as one of the most important races in this year’s election” Gear added. “For the future of California it is vital that the voters in the 80th AD elect the only pro-taxpayer in the race David Dhillon.”
David first got his star in politics among the College Republicans. As such we know that he truly is one of us both philosophically and in his dedication to grassroots efforts. Unlike his primary opponent he is a person not politician” said Gear.
W.S.N notes that Dhillon would be the first Sikh representative in the assembly if he is elected. His candidacy is encouraged and so is your support of him in this race.
