LUDHIANA: The Marxist forum headed by Jagjit Singh Lyalpuri at a meeting here on Sunday demanded the immediate dismissal of the Beant Singh government as it represented no more than 10 per cent of the states electorate About 200 workers of the party’s attended the first meeting of the forum. Lyalpuri spelled out the forums programme of action in relation to the Punjab problem.

Criticizing C.P (M) chief Harkishan Singh Surjeets policies Lyalpuri alleged that Surjeets strategy all along had been calculated to help the Congress (I).

In a resolution the forum deplored Beant Singh’s policy of confrontation towards the Alkali’s evident from the government’s refusal to release them.

In a significant resolution the forum said that the Punjab river water issue should be resolved in. accordance with the international principles while the question of territorial issues would be sorted out on just basis. The forum also demanded immediate release of the Akali leaders detained since early February.
