AMRITSAR: The district of the six Panthic organizations which boycotted elections in Punjab has endorsed the resolutions adopted by these organizations at Anandpur Sahib during the hola mohalla fir.
Addressing a joint press conference after their meeting the representatives said here on March 31 that their next line of action would be evolved during their joint conference at Talwandi Sabo on Baisakhi day.
Claiming complete unity among these organizations they said the biggest achievement was of boycotting the elections and fixing of their common goal during the Anadpur Sahib meeting.
Referring to home minister S.B Chavans statement issued during his visit to Phillauron Sunday that the Rajiv-Longuwal accord was still relevant and could become the basis for further negotiations they said that this accord was a dead issue” and the Sikhs did not accept it. Now the negotiations could only be held on the issue of a sovereign Sikh state.
Strongly condemning the arrest of second rand leaders of the Panthic organizations they said it would prove cabinet productive. Ridiculing the appeal made by the Chief Minister to militants to lay down their arms they said that the Khalsa Panth was readied on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi to fight against oppression and the militants took to arms to fight against tyranny. Prominent among those who attended the meeting were CPT. JALANDHAR: The six Panthic organizations have decided to thank people for extending support the election boycott at the district levels from April2. The first such rally will be held here on that day.” Similar rallies would be held at Patiala (April 5) Amritsar (April 7) and Jalandhar (April 10)
This was stated to newsmen here on Monday after a meeting of senior leaders of the six organizations by the All India Students Federation (Manjit) general secretary Mr. Sarabjit Singh Jammu. Mr. Jammu said that if the Punjab government disallowed holding of these rallies by arresting second rank leaders then the remaining leaders at their own levels would decide the mode of protest.
