NEW DELHI: A decision to ban the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) is likely to be taken within a weeks’ time after the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA) considers this matter.
“This was disclosed by the home minister S.B. Chavan after the civil investiture ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan here.
Talking to press persons Chavan said that Rs. 10 crore had been provided to the Tamil Nada government for modernizing the state police.
Simultaneously security measures for the Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalitha had been strengthened because of the presence of LTTE suicide squads in the state
