CHANDIGARH: Three militants were among five persons killed in Punjab while one person was killed in neighboring Haryana state on March 30.
An unidentified militant was killed in an encounter with security men near village Ubbeyan in Sangrur district. While another unidentified militant was killed in village Chak Basu in Bathinda district. Gunmen killed a village sarpanch in Sirsa in Haryana a district bordering Punjab.
Meanwhile the Akali Dal (Mann) has described as “Hollow the statement of the Punjab Chief Minister Mr Beant Singh calling for militants in the state to cease fire.
