LUDHIANA: Punjab Human Rights Organization in a statement here said that the police had detained Lakhmir Singh Bhauwal brother of Bhai Harmit Singh Bhauwal a Babbar Khalsa International activist and Major Singh Hawara and Maghar Singh Hawara brothers of Bhai Baldev Singh another B.K.I activist and they were being tortured.
The police however said that Babbars had abducted some pro police persons and that the arrests were in retaliation The P.H.R.O. asked Punjab chief minister Beant Singh to direct the police to release the relations of the Babbars.
