BANGALORE (PTI): Intelligence agencies are investigating reports linking Dubai based underworld Don Dawood gang with the death of film actress Divya Bharati.
They are working on the theory that Divya had come to know of the plans of the Don’s gang to set off a ‘series of bomb blasts in Bombay and had revealed it to some of her confidantes.
When the gang came to know of this, they conspired to finish off Divya by making her drink liquor and pushing her down from the top floor giving an impression that she fell to her death under the influence of alcohol, the sources said.
Dawood Ibrahim was reportedly financing film producers and directors who used to sign contracts with film stars of the Don’s “choice” to take the leading role, the sources said.
