GUWAHATI: Union Minister for Home and Internal Security Rajesh Pilot has asked the Assam Government to prepare an action plan to fight the militant threat. Asked to comment on the enhanced activity of the Bodo militants in Assam and regrouping by the ULFA militants, Pilot said that the Center would help the State Government, through every possible means, in containing the insurgency.
He, however, mentioned that law and order was a state subject and implementation of Home Ministry guidelines depends on respective stale governments. Earlier, Rajesh Pilot addressed a meeting of Congress Workers at the Judges Field called by the Pradesh Congress Committee on the occasion of completion of two years of the Narasimha Rao Ministry. He accused Pakistan of instigating violence in Kashmir, saying that Pakistan should not forget the lessons of the 1965 and 1971 wars, Pilot held the BJP responsible for the communal tension in the country and cautioned the people lo remain vigilant against such forces.
Pilot alleged that the BJP was inciting people on communal lines only to gain power.
